The UNLRN Story

In February 2020, we launched UNLRN with the mission to transform traditional “tick-box” DEI training into engaging, interactive, and accessible experiences for everyone. By combining our expertise in community-based social justice, corporate DEI, and the arts, we’ve created a new kind of training experience – one that is engaging, practical, and compassionate. Our interactive courses feature storytelling, group work, live polls and real-world examples, offering a fresh and modern perspective on DEI work.

Early success: Within our first few months, we trained over 300 people for free, gathered invaluable feedback, refined our materials, and secured major clients like Mother and RAPP. This success enabled us to expand our trainings to include Inclusive Leadership, Psychological Safety, and Inclusive Communication, and more.

Expert team: Building an inspirational team of experts with diverse lived experiences has been crucial in shaping UNLRN’s intersectional perspective. We learn from one another every day, and because our work tackles emotionally challenging topics, we integrate trauma-informed practices into everything we do.

Giving back: Making a real, positive difference in the world has been central to our mission from the beginning. We donate both 10% of our annual profits and our time to charities on the front lines of social justice work.

Our growth: Today, we are proud to partner with prestigious companies like Google, Nike and Omnicom - and we’re just getting started. For us, UNLRN isn’t just a job – it’s a mission. And we’re not stopping until everyone’s included.

“To win the fight for equity, we will all need to speak up and stand up. And we need to do that even when it's hard and even when we feel out of place. Justice counts on all of us.”
