Personal accounts

A colleague would often explain things in a minimal sense of understanding despite having the same level of experience and understanding as them

I took up pole fitness about two years ago. I love it and put a huge amount of effort into my training, as well as researching it how to better my training. I have had a few instances where men have mansplained to me why some aspects of my training weren’t correct and proceed to explain why my training ‘didn’t count’ or was ineffective. These comments predominantly came from men who don’t do a sport at all or do a sport requiring a completely different skill set (i.e. gym bros, basketball etc.). And yeah, i’m not an elite athlete, but i enjoy it and it keeps me fit. But i’ve become so hesitant to even talk about it to men because they’d respond with something along the lines of “well actually if you’d train like this....” Its exhausting.
