Personal accounts

Living in (and benefitting from the privilege of) a gentrifying neighbourhood, I need to continuously find ways to support those who lived here before me, and struggle with knowing how to help

Coming from a privileged background, I’ve certainly battled mentally with regards to expectation that comes from it (i.e. you’ve had a head-start), and also judgement from others within a similar vein/remit. I’ve looked to use what I’ve learned, both good and bad from this background, to try and make class and background irrelevant in professional and cultural judgement; especially with friends from a similar background.
